Mariachi Los Pumas
Mariachi Los Pumas was founded in 2011 at Jovita Idár Elementary in Chicago’s Gage Park Community. The mariachi group is generally composed of 60 performing mariachi students from grades K-8th grade. The group has performed all throughout the city of Chicago and it’s surroundings in major festivals, weddings, parades, private and public events of all types. In 2019 Mariachi Los Pumas was recognized by the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation for its impact on the school community.

Terran’s Greek Band is going to guide you on a mini-tour of Greece! The duet plays everything from exotic Rembetika songs to delightful dance songs from the islands and beyond. For over three decades they’ve performed across America and in Europe, playing their unique blend of old style, acoustic music and inspiring folks to do traditional dances.

Dancing Petals
Dancing Petals, based in Wheeling, was founded in 2012. Dancing Petals imparts traditional Kathak education at Wheeling/ Buffalo Grove and Naperville/ Aurora to students of different age groups. Our dance company has organized many shows and has participated in numerous events organized by entities like SEWA, ASHA for education, Vedic Cultural Society, SeeChicagoDance, City of Chicago Summer Dance, LUMA8 and others.

Alegria Mexicana
Alegria Mexicana is a Mexican Folkloric Group. The group’s fundamental objective is to diffuse Mexican folkloric traditions through dance and music. Mexico is very rich and diverse in its folklore. The dances performed by the group are traditional dances which incorporate the indigenous, European, and African influences. This performance will feature dances from the states of Yucatan, Tabasco, Michoacan and Jalisco.

Tlaxcala dancers dance to a medley of songs and dances that are performed during Carnival. It is believed that this dance comes from a pre-Hispanic ritual in honor of Tláloc, ancient god of rain. The charros will be dancing with a whip which represents the snake, symbol of lightning and thunder.

Martin Metzger Flamenco Ensemble
Martin Metzger Flamenco Ensemble consists of some of the most experienced flamenco musicians in Chicago. Members have studied the art, traveling to Spain regularly, to capture the art’s energy. The ensemble consists of Ronaldo Monge (dance and percussion), Patricia Ortega (voice), and Martin Metzger (guitar). The respect and desire to preserve authenticity, is at the core of the ensemble.

CKDC was founded in April 2009 and established as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization in 2015. The organization bases operations from its studios at the KCCC, located in Wheeling, IL. CKDC delivers ayear-round schedule of programs dedicated to the presentation of and education/training in Korean traditional dance, serving as a source of cultural vitality and enrichment for Korean Americans.
